• Joel Greenberg Hires Michelle Ertel, Samuel Armes

    Seminole County, FL – Seminole County Tax Collector Joel M. Greenberg announced on Wednesday two additions to the Office of Tax Collector. Michelle Ertel, who will join the office as Public Affairs Director and Samuel Armes,as Blockchain and Legislative Affairs Director.

    “We are excited to welcome Michelle and Samuel to the team and look forward to working with these two dedicated and talented individuals to make sure our office continues to reach far into our community so wecan continue to serve Seminole County’s residents,” said Greenberg.

    Both Ertel and Armes have solid ties to several state and local officials, having worked with legislative leaders and various state agencies in recent years.

    Armes has an extensive background in blockchain and government spaces and did research for United States Special Operations Command and for the Department of State on cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. He also founded the Florida Blockchain Business Association and is a Blockspaces member.

    This is the first government position anywhere in the United States specifically created to advance blockchain initiatives on the county and state level. The goal of the position is to ensure Florida remains a friendly state for blockchain innovation while also overseeing the implementation of countywide blockchain projects.
