SEMINOLE COUNTY, FL (April 9, 2019)-- Seminole County Community Services is currently offering funding opportunities for Purchase Assistance, Minor Home Repairs, and Rehab/Reconstruction Programs. Funding is available on a first-come-first-qualified basis until expended for qualified Seminole County residents. Programs include:
Purchase Assistance Program
Purchase Assistance is for qualified very low, low and moderate income first-time homebuyers in need of down payment, principal reduction, and closing cost assistance to purchase new or existing homes.
Minor Home Repair Program
The Minor Home Repair Program is designed to provide funds in the form of a grant to qualified applicants with necessary repairs and/or alterations to affect the immediate livability of the home. Applicants are eligible to receive two of the five trades listed below: roofing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC (heating and cooling systems), and accessibility/barrier removal.
The Homeowner Rehabilitation Program is intended to meet the housing needs of very low and low income households and to expand preservation of affordable housing in Seminole County. This program is designed to provide funds in the form of an interest free, deferred payment loan to qualified homeowners with needed repairs and/or alterations to improve their health, safety and well-being, and to contribute to the structural integrity and preservation of their owner-occupied home. Seminole County utilizes funding from the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP), Home Investment Partnerships (HOME), and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) programs.
