Chris Anderson Announces Statewide Scholarship Opportunity
Now accepting applications for the Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections Scholarship
Sanford, Fla (February 28, 2019) – Chris Anderson, the new Seminole County Supervisor of Elections is looking for the best and the brightest in the county to be submitted for one of three $1,200 scholarships from the supervisor’s state association.
The scholarships will go to three college juniors or seniors throughout Florida who are majoring in political science, business administration or communications degrees. Anderson will be choosing one student from Seminole County to be considered.
“It’s important for us to give back to the community and support a student who will become one of Florida’s future leaders,” Anderson says. “I believe our students in Seminole County are the top of the class in Florida and want to make sure we take advantage of this opportunity.”
The selected student must attend a Florida college or university. They should have at least a “C” average and have a financial need for the scholarship. Of course, they must be registered to vote.
Anderson will be interviewing finalists from Seminole County before submitting one student to the state competition.
“I am certainly looking forward to meeting with the best and the brightest from Seminole County,” Anderson says. “More and more our college students are participating in our American democracy and this is just one more way to encourage voting.”
Applications must be received via email to Anderson@VoteSeminole.org by March 29. For full details on eligibility and submission requirements, along with the required application, please visit VoteSeminole.org/scholarship.
