CFE Federal Credit Union Will Change its Name to Addition Financial
Lake Mary, Fla. (March 12, 2019) – As CFE Federal Credit Union expands its footprint, the Central Florida-based credit union will undergo its next evolution, changing its name to Addition Financial on May 1.
CFE, which stands for “Central Florida Educators,” was founded in 1937 to serve local educators, but since has expanded to serve anyone who lives, works, worships, volunteers, or attends school within its four-county region. As Addition Financial, the credit union intends to reflect that all are welcome to join, and that services will be offered to the community as a whole.
“Our new name will better encompass our mission to bring financial success and education to everyone. The word ‘addition’ ties into our legacy of teaching and learning, while also demonstrating our dedication to adding value to our members’ lives,” said Kevin Miller, President and CEO.
During this time, CFE will also pursue a state charter, which will allow the credit union to expand to new counties and open more convenient branches for its members. Addition Financial will remain a credit union, and will continue to be democratically governed as a not-for-profit financial institution as CFE has for its 82-year history. As Addition Financial, the credit union will still be federally insured by the NCUA as it is under its current charter, and the Board of Directors, management team, and employees will remain in place.
Under the Addition Financial brand, the credit union will adopt a new trademarked tagline: Count us in.
“As Addition Financial, we want our brand to reflect our commitment to education and financial empowerment. We strive to help our members create successful outcomes in their lives by building trusted relationships through our people-first mindset. No matter where our members are in their financial journeys, we want them to count us in,” said Miller.
Changes in signage are expected to begin as early as late March. Through the name change, the credit union will continue to dedicate itself to its partners in education and throughout the community, and will look for new ways to enhance its services and technology.
