• Central Florida Direct Primary Care Physician Featured in Lake Mary Life Magazine

    November 15, 2018

Nostalgia Family Medicine announces the recent feature of Dr. Brandon Fletcher, M.D. in the September/October 2018 edition of Central Florida’s premier print publication, Lake Mary Life Magazine.  In his most recent article Dr. Fletcher discusses the basics of medical marijuana in the state of Florida.

Dr. Fletcher stated “the medical marijuana bill was passed in the state of Florida in November of 2016.  Since then primary care physicians have been working with the state of Florida to carefully facilitate the administration of this drug.  There are many safe-stops in place to prevent the drug from being freely and easily given out for minor aches and pains. There is an application process that patients must go through which includes being clinically diagnosed with one of the qualifying conditions to be eligible for the medical marijuana treatment.  Once a patient is diagnosed with a qualifying condition they then need to find a medical marijuana qualified ordering physician and schedule an evaluation. Once these two steps are completed then the process continues with being entered and accepted into the medical marijuana registry with the State of Florida. It’s a lengthy process but a necessary one to ensure patients are qualified for this form of medical treatment.”

Patients suffering from cancer, epilepsy, glaucoma, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), Parkinson’s disease, Crohn’s disease, AIDS, multiple sclerosis, HIV positive status are all qualifying diagnoses for medical marijuana treatments.  Dr. Fletcher added “there are occasions where similar medical conditions, terminal conditions or chronic nonmalignant pain can also be approved for treatment. In these cases, the conditions must be diagnosed by a qualified physician.”

Dr. Fletcher’s direct primary care practice, Nostalgia Family Medicine, is an authorized treatment center for patients in need of medical marijuana.  This Seminole County family medical practice is located at 771 Ciara Creek Cove, Longwood, Florida 32750. Nostalgia Family Medicine is a concierge medical center where patients pay an annual fee or retainer for medical services.  In office, in home and tele-medication services are available.

Dr. Fletcher noted, “as a direct primary care physician I have the opportunity to get to know my patients and understand their healthcare needs.  They are not just a number at Nostalgia Family Medicine, my staff and I take the time to build a relationship with our patients. Having the flexibility for in office and tele-med services is greatly appreciated by patients.  Often-times, they just need a quick phone conversation to answer some lingering questions.”

Nostalgia Family Medicine is unique in that they do offer house calls for medical care.  Dr. Fletcher will treat patients in their own home, something that most direct primary care doctor’s offices don’t offer.  Men and women are invited to call Nostalgia Family Medicine for medical care at 407-543-1270, visit online at https://nostalgiamed.com/ or follow them on Facebook.  Consumers needing wellness exams or suffering from the common head cold, sinus infection, bronchitis, inflammation of joints, blood pressure issues, heart issues, cholesterol screening, blood work and any other ailments or health concerns are encouraged to call Dr. Fletcher and his team at Nostalgia Family Medicine.
